Reservations
Prior to making a reservation request you must also read the Terms and Conditions that relate to the rental vehicle. The relevant Terms and Conditions are on every vehicle web page that features a vehicle available for rental. Rental supply companies listed within this web site may change their Terms and Conditions and/or specifications for their vehicles at any time and without notice. Auto Rentals Australia Wide endeavours to keep the Terms and Conditions for the supply companies and specifications for their vehicles up to date but accepts no responsibility for changes made by supply companies that do not appear within this web site. Rental supply companies may also apply minimum rental terms during busy periods such as the summer peak season, Easter and school holidays and other busy periods.
Reservation requests are only accepted by Auto Rentals Australia Wide on the condition that the Auto Rentals Australia Wide Terms and Conditions, and the Terms and Conditions that apply to the relevant rental vehicle have been read and understood, and that you AGREE TO ACCEPT THEM.
For all campervan, motorhome and 4WD hires we require a deposit at the time of reservation and the balance is paid at the time of pick-up at the depot unless otherwise advised. As the amount of the deposit may vary we state the required amount in any quotation for these vehicles.
For the Cruisin' Tasmania ranges of vehicles we require a deposit at the time of reservation; as the amount of the deposit may vary we state the required amount in any quotation for these vehicles. The remaining balance must be paid in full 30 days prior to commencement of the hire. If a reservation is made 30 days or less prior to commencement of the hire then full payment of the rental cost is required at the time of booking.
A reservation deposit of 15% of the rental cost is required to make a reservation for cars. The remaining balance must be paid in full 30 days prior to commencement of the hire. All requests for reservations are subject to availability. Once availability has been established and the reservation confirmed then the DEPOSIT BECOMES NON REFUNDABLE
When the reservation has been confirmed and the deposit payment processed a Rental Voucher will be emailed or posted to you. Please check that all details are correct. The voucher becomes valid only when the final balance has been processed. One amendment per booking is allowed prior to vouchers being issued. Once documentation has been issued and sent to you, an amendment fee of AU$50 will apply, per amendment.
Errors and Omissions
In keeping with our Personal Service policy all quotations are hand typed and not a computer generated form. Unfortunately human errors can occur and if any quoted rate is 20% or more lower than the rate published by the supply company we reserve the right to call this an error and re-quote at the correct rate.
Cancellations
All requests for cancellation of a booking must be in writing; by either email or facsimile (fax). No cancellations can be accepted unless it is in writing and is received directly from you (the hirer).
Once a period of 30 days or less from the time of commencement of the hire has been reached then the cancellation policies of the rental supply company also apply. These policies are contained within the Terms and Conditions of each individual supply company and are clearly available throughout the Auto Rentals Australia Wide web site. You must read the Terms and Conditions that apply to the vehicle you wish to hire prior to making a reservation request. Any cancellation fees that apply are additional to the forfeiture of the reservation deposit amount.
When calculating the cancellation fees the calculations will be based on the full listed retail rate of the supplying rental company and not on any discounted rates.
We strongly advise that full travel insurance be obtained. Unforeseen circumstances that may require you to cancel travel plans can be very costly especially when the cancellation occurs shortly before commencement of a hire. In most cases this will incur a heavy penalty including total loss of the hire costs paid by you. Please ensure you have adequate travel insurance cover.
Once the hire commences
When the rental vehicle has been collected, and the rental agreement contract between the hirer and the rental supply company has been signed, the Terms and Conditions contained within that contract apply in full.
Auto Rentals Australia Wide Service
Our service is to provide an online facility where an intending traveller can compare the multiple choices that are provided by reputable and well regarded rental companies within Australia and New Zealand. The traveller can make an assessment of which vehicle best suits their particular requirements and budget. All vehicle specifications, images, lists of inclusions and terms and conditions are provided by the rental companies and may change at any time without notice. All vehicle information is presented in a simple and clear format that enables easy comparison. Images are for illustration purposes only and may vary from the actual vehicle provided.
When a decision is reached a reservation request can be made, or further information sought, by an online Reservation/Enquiry form. If a reservation request is received we will then collect a deposit or full payment as outlined above and make a reservation for the vehicle selected. When confirmation of the rental is received by us from the supplier and the deposit/payment processed we will then forward confirmation to the hirer by email, phone or fax. A voucher will then be issued and emailed or posted to the address supplied by the hirer. This voucher must be presented to the depot upon collection of the vehicle. The voucher becomes valid only when final payment for the rental has been processed.
When any final payment for the rental has been processed by us the Terms and Conditions of the rental supply company then take full effect and any cancellation will incur fees or penalties as set out in those Terms and Conditions.
Any failure of a rental supply company to provide the vehicle they confirmed as being reserved is entirely the responsibility of that rental supply company. Every endeavour will be made by the rental supply company to provide an equivalent or better vehicle as set out in their Terms and Conditions and Auto Rentals Australia Wide accepts no responsibility for this or for any situation where a reserved vehicle is unavailable.
